Come As You Are - Pay As You Go

Making good on their promise to deliver back-to-back, 6-week long, one-store-at-a-time, temporary-shop-moments, Chinatown's New High (M)art stages an L.A. retail coup with the Grey Ant Pop-Up Store, December 15, 2007 — January 31, 2008.

Grey Ant, the notorious line and moniker representing fashion-insurgent Grant Krajecki, will take its turn in the ever-revolving 300-square-foot storefront with a curated selection of signature looks and manipulations that span a nearly decade-long career. In-store merchandise includes runway-pieces, denim, original sunglasses, surprise collaborations, archived-early-ons, and never-before-seen creations designed specifically for this opportunity. Krajecki, best known for his brave and theatrical approach to design and runway, arrives at retailing with the same defiance — so expect the unexpected.

Thriving on an accelerated, here-today-gone-tomorrow retail model, New High (M)art immediately tapped Grey Ant as a source of inspiration. Grey Ant's commitment to and reputation for consistently reinventing the line with "what-will-he-do-next" collections, including first-on-the-block shapes, subversive graphics and fearless directions make for a perfect fit to the NH(M) gallery-like store concept, say co-owners Miho Ikeda and T-RIK.

In addition to stealing headlines across the globe for initiating the current high-waist movement, the prolific Grey Ant is also enjoying attention for a newly-debuted line of sunglasses and the well-received Spring/Summer 2008 Collection previews at the recent LA and NY Fashion Weeks.
